The standard starship of the imperium uses fusion engines for in-system propulsion and is also equipped with a halo drive for intersystem travel. Space war in the imperium takes place over thousands of kilometers and with the vast expenses of space travel, very often combat consists of long lines of ships sniping across star systems, not to risk scratching their heraldry.
